back injury question |

Question:
I am having an injury crisis I was hoping to get some extra input on. When I
was 22 I injured my neck doing shrugs. At the time a doctor refered
chiropracter fixed it in one session and didn't do any follow-up. Last
November (I'm 32 now) I started to suffer incredible pain in my shoulder and
upper back area.
After being mis-diagnosed by an MD and promised only
temporary relief by a physiotherapist, a chiropracter took X-rays and told me
a nerve was being pinched between the 5th and 6th vertabrae. Also, 3 of my
vertabrae were fused together. He has been treating me for about 7 month and
has done a great job.
I've been working out since January and have been
relatively painless for awhile, even though my work-out weights are not back
to pre-injury levels. Unfortunantly, last month, I noticed that some of the
muscles in my back are deteriorating rapidly. Worse, last night during a
soccer game, the nerve piched again and now it feels like someone is pushing a
knife into my upper back.
Has anyone had any experience with a similar injury or have any input or
suggestions?
