I've had this pain for about 2 weeks. Is this normal for lower back pain to be on the side? Could it be something else?

Could be 'normal' lower back pain or something else. Kidney problems come to mind.

I had a pain like that, although it resolved in less than 3-4 days. It turned out to be a kidney stone working its way out. If so, and depending on its size, it will either work its way out shortly, or it will get stuck. If it gets stuck (not to alarm you), "2 paracetamol" will no longer relieve the pain, and you will probably have to go to the ER.
