Neck pain and dizziness?
Question:
I was diagnosed with TMJ about a year ago. It's not been that bad, the pain is usually minor, the main problem has been lack of jaw mobility. Lately though I have been waking up in the morning with a stiff and sore neck and shoulders, and I've also been having occasionaly dizzy spells and periods of lightheadedness. I've seen these mentioned as symptoms of TMJ, but I don't hear that much about it.

Are these common symptoms of TMJ or could it be an unrelated problem? If it's TMJ related, is there anything I can do to relieve it? Even during the day anymore my neck is more tense than normal and I hate waking up not feeling good, plus the dizziness worries me.

Answer:

I have had problems with my jaw for about six years now.I have been seen by several diffrent doctors and dentists. The latest who is a dental surgeon has done more than any one. He prescribed me several different tablets some work and some dont.I have two different dental shields.

I read somewhere on the internet that they should not be worn every night, has anyone else read this? is it true? As for feeling dizzy, i too feel dizzy quite often, I put it down to the pills, or is this to do with the condition? Has anyone else had their jaw cleaned out? and did it make any difference? The only difference it made for me was my jaw did not grate as much.
