| Treatment For Low Back Pain Needed |
|
Question:
have had chronic lower back pain for the last 4 months. My X-Ray report is
as follows: Umbosacral spine There is a spina bifida occulta of S5. There is
a grade 1 spondylolisthesis of L5 on S1 and there are bilateral pars defects.
There is also a slight lumbar scoliosis concave to the right side.
I have been on several different pain-killers, anti-inflammatory, herbal, etc.
Most provide very little relief, some don't make any difference. I have tried
back supports, special chairs, and minimal activity. I desperately seek some
kind of treatment or pain-relief. How much does this treatment cost, and where
can I obtain it?
Answer:
You need to talk to your doctor about pain management. If s/he doesn't feel
comfortable in this role, there are excellent clinics that specialize in just
this area of medicine, and s/he can refer you to one. [There are also some
perfectly awful clinics, so check them out first.] Such treatment is covered
by insurance. If you don't have insurance, it is rather expensive.
