| Accutane and lower back/groin pain |
|
Question:
know this is an extremely weird question, but after a little less
than a month of being on accutane, I've started to have some persistent
pains in my groin and surrounding areas. I initially had lower back
pain, which progressed to persistent pain on the right side of my lower
back.
About a week and a half ago, I started having pangs of pain on
the right side "down there." At first, I had trouble pinpointing the
location (it was a dull pain as opposed to a sharp easily identified
pain). But now, I'm certain that it's in the right side of my groin,
and occassionally on the left side. The small jolts of pain continue
in the right side of my back, my right hip, and on my right leg.
I'm obviously very concerned about this. I am going to make an
appointment with my doctor for Tuesday. I really hope that this is
just a side effect of accutane, although my mind continues to wander to
more serious concerns (i.e., cancer). If anyone has had a similar
experience, please respond. I apologize for the rather graphic nature
of this post. As this is rather embarassing, I probably wouldn't be
posting if I wasn't as concerned as I am.
Answer:
Ive had back pains and I guess overall more muscle cramping (hands feel
tight and cramped if I sleep on them) but no groin pains. you should
definately see your doctor/dermatologist.
A friend of mine started my Accutane treatment of 40mg one pill a day and after three
days of taking it she noticed my back muscles getting sore and when she'd bend
she said her fingers they felt tight and puffy but she seems to feel better today but she is worried and has a feeling the muscle cramps will be back even worse then my first time.
