Chronic Low Back Pain
Question:
My wife has chronic lower back pain and the doctors have advised her to take cortizone shots. We are worried about this because we heard long term cortizone use damages the bones. Can somebody please lead help us to some information or give us advise or opinions about different medicines. She used Celebrex but it didn't help.

Answer:

Whatever she does, she does not want to have injections into her spine. Others here can shed more light on that (please do so, folks). I have chronic lower back pain and the use of a TENS helps tremendously, but I finally got to the point where I needed more help than that. I've been on narcotic pain medication (Norco) for 1.5 years now and that, truly, does relieve the pain.
