Neck and facial pain symptoms -help!
Question:
I've been suffering from severe neck tightness that radiates up into my head. At its worst it causes severe pulling on the left side of my nose, eye (gets blurry) and jaw. Literally feels like I was smacked on the face with a bat.

My face actually looks like it is being pulled to the side. This all started after passing out(untreated lyme) and severly hitting my head and neck on both sides.. I've tried every therapy imagationable, ie, chiro, accupunture, osteopath, neurologist, of course lyme treatment, cranial sacral etc.

My lastest visit to a physiologist believes that I have instability in my neck due to loose muscles and ligaments and is causing the problem. I started physical therapy and have had improvement but still dont feel that the real problem is being addressed.

The physiciolgist cant explain why I have constant swelling behind my eyes. My nose is always swollen and red on top (agrevated by chewing) and even the right side of my pallete is painful and lower that the left side. Do you think an otolaryngologist could help. I'm at the end of my rope and this is the only thing that is keeping me from getting on with my life(post lyme). Any suggestions?

Answer:

have experienced simular pain on my right side of my face, neck and head, ears, jaw. I went to see an Ears, Nose, Throat Dr. and he but me on an intinflammatory drug and muscle relaxers. This seems to take some of the tension out of my neck and face.

Have you had a MRI? You really should to make sure nothing else in brewing in your head. I don't mean to scare you but I had a brain tumor 4 years ago and the symptoms were the same head, neck, face numbess. The surgery helped somewhat but the Lyme Disease has settled in my scar tissues and so I still feel pain and numbness.
