Back pain/injury herbs for inflammation?
Question:
I'm wondering if any of you have suggestions of herbs/vitamins, etc which will help heal a back injury, reduce inflammation and help keep my back bones and muscles strong?

Answer:

I was told that Chinese leeks will cure old wounds, one pound per day. I was willing to try but after about half a pound I decided to give up.

My bad chronic back pain responded to chelated magnesium. What I took was from Vitaline Products called Vitamag. You can get it from L&H vitamins and a few other places. I imagine any other chelated product would work as well. I think it has some manganese in it too. In a few days it was gone. I took about 600 mg/day. I haven't had back pain since, and I'm 72. I still take it occasionally. We are all short of magnesium.
