Back Of Knee Pain
Question:
After my long bike the other day, I had a dulll pain coming from the back of my right knee. There are the 2 ligaments that you can see on the back side of everyones' knees when they squat down or bend a bit. Well my pain is coming from the outside one on the right knee. I have no idea what could cause this. Any one know what it could be?

Answer:

That'd probably be a hamstring tendon. If you're talking about the tendons on either side of the back of the knee, stretching, cutting back on training, and rest if neccesary is all that helped me. I believe that prevention (stretching regulary) is the only thing that really keeps this injury away. I overcame it, and haven't had a problem for months now. The problem with a tendon injury is that they take so long to heal due to the fact that tendons don't get a very good blood supply.

The cause of injuries in the hamstring can be due to the posterior rotation of the pelvis (pelvis rolls back as when you slouch in a chair) which shortens the distance between the origin and insertion of the hamstring(set of 3 muscles).
