Injury Doctor's Recommendation |
|
Question:
For exercise, I started running in December and was doing 10K+ by April. Then came the
back problems (non-running injury). Just started again last night. Did
a slow 5k. Should I see a back doctor for advice?
Answer:
Yes, seek some professional help! I had one incident last year, injured my back stretch wrapping some boxes at work.
Kind of a bummer. However my doctor said running was good for it, so while
I slowed down for a while I continued to run. This year it was kidney
stones, this doctor was also a runner so of course he said keep running. A
few years ago my heart murmur was checked out, again the doctor was a
runner, and his advice to me was to keep running. Your case may be different than mine, though.
