Question:
Of all the aspirin and ibuprofen products
on the market, just which one of these
basic ingredients is most effective
for reliving muscular pain (specifically
back ache). I believe aspirin may
cause stomach discomfort to some (not
me) but not ibuprofen. Some friends
tell me aspirin is "more powerful"
for the symptom and others say ibuprofen.
Which one is it... or are neither
that effective. If the latter... what
over the counter medication is?
Answer:
I would say brufen is better than
aspirin for back ache, could try 400mg
three times a day with food. suggesat
also trying a hot water bottle or
heat pad, and a TENS machine may help
I rpesume you have seem a doctor about
this and excluded things like slipped
disc etc could also try massage/aromatherapy
if you haven't already or osteopathy.
The effectiveness for both of them
are similar. However, ibuprofen has
side effect to the stomach but you
still need to take it after food.
You may try Nurofen over the counter.
Muscle relaxants such as methocarbamol
will also be useful. methocarbamol
is associated with acetaminophen in
Robaxacet and with ASA in Robaxisal
