Question:
I have had low back pain for close
to three years. I am in pain all the
time except when I'm lying down (I'm
lucky I know). I've tried everything
and my Pain Clinic physician suggested
I try a TENS machine.
I don't know
much about them. I do know that my
insurance company will cover 90% of
the cost. Can someone tell me how
it works and if it might work for
me.
My back pain is from "soft tissue"
problems, not structural. I think
that's another way of saying they
have no clue what the problem is.
I already take as many meds as I can
stand so I'm hoping this might help
without adding more drugs to my system.
Answer:
You may want to rent one to see if
it helps first. Mine didn't help with
back pain part but did change the
burning sensation in my lower legs
and feet. it does distract me a bit
on the LB pain and somtimes any change
is welcome.
I tried a Tens Unit years ago.I had
rented one first to see if it would
help with my pain.Unfortunately it
did nothing to relieve my pain. I
wish you better results.
